While there was a brief hiatus in the development of the open firmware for Raspberry Pi, we can now boot Linux straight from bootcode.bin (note, this does require an initrd built in with zImage as there are still issues with eMMC working reliably at boot).

Disons que si vous souhaitez changer de machine, et surtout de système, quitter la cage dorée d’Apple pour la liberté Linux, sans chercher à conserver vos archives et habitudes, prenez Ubuntu (ou toute autre version accessible de Linux) et basta.

A year earlier I decided to switch from OSX to Ubuntu, so now is a good time to make a little retrospective. TL;DR: Linux now offers a pleasant desktop user experience and there's no way back for me.
